| Michigan lost to Ohio State last night by 3 measly points. 3 points!!! Not only did the game have national championship implications, but the rivalry between the two schools is intense. As a Michigan fan to the core (those of you who have witnessed me watching a Michigan game will agree), I was extremely upset last night. So upset in fact that I had to down a couple of brownies with whipped cream and several beverages. Should I blame the loss for my diet diviation? Probably not. But will I blame the crappy 3 point loss...definately. I will be in mourning for the rest of the week. | | |
| Tenacious D's movie "Pick of Destiny" opens next weekend. Yes, that's Thanksgiving weekend. I cannot wait for the movie. There are a lot of movies that I want to see out there, but this tops the list. The really cool thing is that Monica will be in town that weekend! We are going to hang out on Saturday (right Monica?) and I think it only appropriate that we see this movie together. See, we are part of the RAWKinest girl band ever...Tenacious F. Seriously, we rock the house :) Is it truly "Destiny" that the Tenacious D movie opens the one weekend that I get to hang out with my best bud? I think so. Here's to a RAWKin good time. :) | | |
| So today I went to the facialist that my mom see for a "consultation." My skin has broken out like a 14 year old girl. This look is not attractive on a 28 year old woman. Although, many people think I'm younger than I actually am...in part I believe, because of the acne problem. But I'm off track. I went in for the "consultation" and she looks at my skin under the bright light and says I need some heavy duty exfoliation. Cool, hook me up with some cleanser maybe a mask or skin treatment and I'll scrub my face at home. Nope. Not today. Today I get microdermabrasion. What is this procedure? I don't really know but here is the process: First: skin numbing cream is applied and then you sit and wait to make sure the skin is nice and numb. Here is the point where I begin to question the procedure. Why would I need something to numb my face? Aren't spa treatments suppossed to be relaxing? Second: A shower cap is placed around my hair and ears "so the sand won't get in them." What!?! There is sand involved? Third: A little tube thing is turned on and the lady starts sucking dead skin off my face. Let me just say that I can't imagine this procedure WITHOUT the skin numbing cream. Then the really nice lady keeps talking to me. Not just making convo but asking questions! I answer inbetween the sucking and get gritty sand in my teeth. Then the extractions begin. I left the spa with a red face that still hurts a little around the check area but looking already much better. I now have a skin care regime that will help end the days of teenage confusion. :) | | |
| That's right folks...I'm officially a memeber of society again. After a month of unemployment...joke that it was...and thank you Monica and those who care for your support...I have just completed a full working week. Not just for one job mind you, but I now have two official jobs. TWO! The Yankee Candle thing is working out well. A few night a week and a fat employee discount and just about everyone is covered for Christmas. Reminder, get your scent orders in soon b/c employee day is coming soon I hear. The NCR job is going equally as well. Everyone is really nice. Bonus, they let all the other temps in my area go so apparently I actually know what I'm doing and am not the slacker the my old boss thought I was. It feels good to get up early again and have a purpose to the day. I won't lie...I got into the whole daytime drama thing again but not so deep that I'm willing to work nights :) So that's what's new. In case anyone is wondering...the cats are adjusting well to their new setting. The long hard car trip had not scarred them for life and things can continue like normal. I might turn out to be a good mom after all :) | | |
| Yes, that's cats...plural...I'm the cat lady. Have you ever ridden in a car for 10 hours straight with 2 cats in their carry case sitting next to you in the front seat? I don't recommend it. Really. They meow and stare at you pitifully for the first hour or so then they finally give up and realize that they are stuck in their cage in a moving vehicle and try to sleep. When they are finally asleep, try not to hit any bumps...hahahaha...or make loud noises (ie. burping) or sudden movements (like changing the cd). Once they are jolted awake the process of meowing/pitiful looks begins again. At first I was upset for them and felt really bad, but a few hours into the ride I tried like hell to stay quiet and swerved all over the highway to avoid large potholes. V. comical to see my crazy uhaul toting butt swerving on the road. Good thing few cops out. But we arrived at our destination safe and sound...a little tired but safe and sound and all is now well. But I have one questioon: if I am this paranoid with cats...what will I be like as a mother to an actual baby? Hmmm... | | |
